Sharon Stevenson’s professional career has spanned various positions in Philanthropy, Sales Management, Marketing, and Corporate Communications positions within the technology field in both international and domestic markets for over 30 years. While living abroad in London, England, Budapest, Hungary and Warsaw, Poland, Sharon assumed executive board positions, including development within non-profit expatriate organizations devoted to charities including hospitals, orphanages, and schools. These initiatives have cultivated and shaped her passion for philanthropy and volunteerism. Inspiring her continued local non-profit service.

Since 2007, Sharon has been actively involved in the non-profit community in Connecticut. In 2008, with a partner, she established her own non-profit – public/private partnership in the town of New Canaan. Through the support of many local and national organizations and sound targeting fund raising efforts, the organization raised the necessary funds to complete the project. Throughout this process, Sharon saw the positive impact of community philanthropy. During her time in Connecticut, Sharon served on three New Canaan-based non-profit boards in Arts, Healthcare and Community Foundation disciplines assuming roles in Governance, Development, and Marketing. From 2018 – 2020, Sharon assumed the Chair role of the New Canaan Community Foundation. In 2020, at the on-set of the Pandemic, Sharon, along with the CEO and Board of Directors, successfully established a Covid Relief Fund which provided additional $1MM support to non-profits in the community.

In 2016, Sharon joined The Giving Collaborative as a Senior Consultant and collaborated with client partners throughout the United States.  Since joining TGC Sharon has partnered with clients on campaign readiness and implementation, served as campaign counsel, provided strategic Board guidance, and crafted proposals and recommendations achieve positive results.  In addition, Sharon has served as on-site council on several occasions managing all aspects of the development process including large scale donor engagement events. Sharon’s client portfolios have crossed all sectors of the nonprofit landscape including, Hospitals, Community Heathcare Organizations, Museums, Zoo’s, and Foundations.
