Jan Wood, CFRE, is a 35+ year fundraising veteran and marketing/public relations veteran. Before joining the Giving Collaborative, she served ten years as President and Chief Development Officer of the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation based in Annapolis, Maryland. In this role, she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Foundation and the health system’s philanthropy strategic planning and programmatic goals across its various service lines and centers of care.
Jan has written and presented on a variety of fundraising topics. She authored an article for AHP magazine entitled Lost Major Donors: Why Major Donors Leave and How to Get Them Back, and the author of the chapter Making Your Case Statement a Passion Paper in the 2014 AHP-published book Redefining Healthcare Philanthropy. She was also honored as one of the Top 100 Women in Maryland by The Daily Record in 2015. In 2020, Wood chaired the AHP Leading Forward Conference in Chicago.
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a 1997 graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel, a 2010 YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry Honoree, and a 2015 100 Top Women Leaders in Maryland awardee.
